2nd LIVE YouTube Painting Finished!

The griddle is hot. And time is evaporating in the heat. Already the painting started LIVE on September 21st is done, signed, sealed, lacquered and framed, and on the site for sale. Below though is how the painting looked at the end of the 30-minute LIVE session on the 21st. The basics of what would end up being the final painting were there. But much to be done.

This was the fourth week that I painted LIVE and I made some adjustments to the lighting that features the canvas and not the idiot doing the painting. And son gave me a set of wireless Lavalier mics so that I'm not dragging audio cables around. Face it, I hate being in front of the camera and for 40 years I've been the guy behind the camera telling the talent what to do and then yelling, "Action!", and, "Cut!". So much easier standing back there. But now, not only am I the talent, the director, the camera operator, the audiotech, the lighting guy, and the producer, but I have to get in front of the camera and paint an original work of art with nothing but a parachute that may not open. And thousands of people watching! Well, so far, three people watching, I think three...

Mid-week again I got antsy to continue work on the painting and not wait until this coming Sunday, the 28th. So I saw what needed to be done and went to work with red, orange, gold and black. And my spray bottle with water. That spray bottle has become one of my signature marks on a canvas, I use it a lot to blend colors and to give texture to the layers. It can be overdone, but I used it liberally on this piece.

By Friday the work was done, just needed to sign it, seal it and let that dry, then frame it. That only took a couple of hours of drying time and then I put a silver floater frame on it. Here's the final piece below. Titled, "Red Box", it's 36"x48", acrylic on canvas, framed. Click on the painting to go directly to the sale page.
